The review of the Local Urbanism Plan - PLU - of municipalities in the Greater Paris -Grand Paris Metropolis carried out by Apur since 2013 is a tool for knowing the regulatory framework in effect in the Metropolis and a tool to facilitate awareness of the urbanism trends that each municipality has adopted. The review makes it possible to be aware of and to compare the impact of projects by analysing the regulatory context in which they integrated. The PLU/PLUi review is a tool to enrich the ongoing discussion on PLUi underway in relation to the territory’s projects.

In order to examine the coherence of municipal regulations a simplified zoning review was drawn up under 10 zoning categories. The simplified PLU/PLUi zoning map was made on the basis of a reinterpretation of each zone for each municipality or territory resulting in the definition of 10 simplified zones, namely the 3 regulatory zones which are nature (N), agriculture (A) and urbanisation (AU) and 7 urban zones defined according to their use and/or urban characteristics (detached houses, housing estates, dense mixed, semi-dense, business, facilities, urban green).

It makes it possible to highlight the different approaches of municipalities, for example, the desire to densify along main roads, zoning by neighbourhood or by sector, or zones with a many individual houses showing a marked desire on the part of municipalities to protect this type of urban fabric.
