Survey of Paris Métropole, member municipality, housing projects – Main results and comments

Survey of Paris Métropole, member municipality, housing projects
A considerable increase in the annual volume of new housing produced is a widely shared priority among Paris Métropole members. However it is important that representatives of the metropolis should have the means of putting the building objectives of each territory into perspective alongside the “territorial objectives” (TOL) fixed by the government. This also involves being aware of  why a rise in the housing offer is slowed down locally. For these reasons a survey of housing projects was carried out among Paris Métropole, member, municipalities in 2012.
Thanks to the response of 95 communes and EPCI, the survey by questionnaire made it possible to observe that even though the building objectives noted showed a marked increase of 53% compared with the rate of construction during the decade 2000-2010, they were still a long way behind the TOL objectives (an increase of 43% remaining to be achieved).
Study carried out in partnership with the île-de-France Urbanism and Development Agency (IAU) and Paris Métropole
