Study of the road network at the heart of the conurbation – Phase 4
The fourth and final phase of the partnership study of the road network at the heart of the conurbation brought together the principal key players in management and development within the framework of forward-looking workshops organised around different themes: urban logistics, station feeder services, the main road network and the boulevards of the metropolis. Platforms were provided at these workshops for the exchange of ideas and to share experiences about the critical issues concerning the development and management of the Grand Paris project metropolis, in particular in terms of the road network and public space.
The workshop on urban logistics brought together a significant number of key players in the economy and development fields in addition to the official partners of the study: the Grand Paris Transport and Development Organisation (SGP), the Ile-de- France Regional and Interdepartmental Department of Infrastructure and Development (DRIEA), the Region of Ile-de-France, the General Councils of Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis, the City of Paris and the Ile-de-France Department of Public Highways and Transport (STIF).
The exchanges between the Plaine de France Public Planning Authority (EPA), Sogaris, Saint-Gobain distribution, the Ile-de-France Public Land Authority (EPFIF), Port of Paris, the SNCF, the RATP,  the Association of Supply Chain workers and Real Estate Logistics (Afilog) and Ador. facilitated the process of dealing with some serious economic, urban and environmental issues concerning the future of the metropolis: setting up a network of logistical sites at various levels, developing alternative modes of transport to driving and private vehicles, optimising heavy goods vehicle routes and motorway network connections, standardising driving and parking regulations, and also addressing the need to manage logistical territories by creating an inventory or by merging certain sites…
