In response to Paris hosting the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a convention has been signed between the City of Paris, the Department of Seine-Saint-Denis, the public establishments of Plaine Commune, Paris Terres d’Envol, Est Ensemble and Grand Paris-Grand Est, so that public authorities can take full advantage of the possibilities brought about by the 2024 Games being hosted by Paris. The convention is organised around 16 measures, one of which is to give the Saint-Denis Canal a new image and to help its different uses to co-exist.

In this context , Apur has established a programme plan within a partnership framework with the City of Paris, Plaine Commune and the Seine-Saint-Denis Department aimed at speeding up transformations underway in the vicinity of the canal. This work has enabled the co-formulation of elements within a common framework for projects to come, fixing objectives that deal with accessibility, uses and innovation, to take active form in a programme planned in 3 stages: 2020 / 2024 / 2030. These actions are articulated around the desire to produce a canal which is a “ Linear Park”, a blue connecting loop, in a unique itinerary linking the Olympic Sites in Seine-Saint-Denis (Olympic and Paralympic Village, Stade de France, Olympic Swimming Pool) and in Paris (“Live Site” in Parc de la Villette, the Zénith competition sites…).
