Observatory of the Grand Paris project station neighbourhoods – Cross-analysis of the station neighbourhoods along Line 15 east

Cross-analysis of the station neighbourhoods along Line 15 east

In partnership with the Grand Paris Public Transport Network Association (SGP), and the Ile-de-France Regional and Interdepartmental Department of Facilities and Development (DRIEA), Apur is continuing the work of the Observatory of the Grand Paris station neighbourhoods which, in 2015 focused on Line 15 east linking Saint-Denis Pleyel to Champigny centre.
By the end of 2015, the cross-analyses and monographs concerning lines 15 south, 16, 14 and 15 west had been written up and published. In mid-2016, the Observatory will continue its work on Lines 17 and 18.
Six topics are covered by the Observatory: densities, centralities, the urban and landscape environment, the demographic and social profile of the population living in the station neighbourhoods, mobility and public space, and the dynamics of construction and projects.
The observation is carried out in two stages:
  • A cross-analysis of all the station neighbourhoods along one Line, comparing the situation of each station neighbourhood one with the other.
  • Monographs detailing the characteristics of each station neighbourhood and locating them in their immediate environment, not only in those communes affected by the arrival of the stations but also in the rest of the inner suburbs.
The work of the Observatory offers a better understanding of these territories. The cross-analysis has confirmed the great diversity of situations observed in the station neighbourhoods. It has supplied the facts necessary to manage the changes and transformations brought about by the arrival of the Grand Paris Express Network (RGPE). It has assisted in the decision-making process of the local authorities and key players affected by the RGPE.
