Measuring the social situation in Paris
3rd state of play report

Following the two studies published in 2020 and 2021, this third report updates the trends observed in the social sphere on the Parisian territory.

Accompanied by Apur, the process of observing and analysing the social impact of the health crisis, which was put in place at the beginning of 2021, has enabled the City of Paris and its partners to have real-time information on the social situation in order to respond with more appropriate action.

Almost two years after the instigation of this approach, the process remains relevant for measuring the social situation, the current issues and emerging needs in Paris. The third report is based on the same method used in the two previous reports.

This monitoring process makes it possible to identify the basic and underlying trends: changes in reception and support methods, the progress of dematerialisation, developments in terms of employment and claimants of the RSA welfare benefit, stability at high levels of certain social indicators like those linked to food aid, etc.

It highlights priority issues and focuses on points that may require preventative action and increased vigilance. This is particularly the case with regard to the social work professions, which have been accelerated by the health crisis. It is also the case for needs in the field of health care, and particularly mental health, but also in matters of access to and security of housing.
