12,000 sports facilities, spaces and sites for doing sport have been listed by the Ministry of Sports in Grand Paris Metropolis. Of these, 80% are owned by public organisations and are most often managed by local authorities and public establishments of Inter-municipal cooperation (EPCI). A significant proportion of them offer free access. 15% of sports facilities are to be found in schools, 20% are privately owned (dance studios, body building clubs, fitness centres etc.).
