The presentation of evolutionary data on commerce in Paris has been made possible thanks to information taken from the Data Bank on Commerce (BDCOM) and the surveys on commercial outlets and services carried out every three years between 2000 and 2017, resulting from a partnership between the City of Paris, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Apur.

With this application it is possible to visualise dynamically the evolution of commerce in Paris listed during the seven surveys carried out in 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2017. It presents the evolution of different types of businesses (approximately 80) in the sectors of food, non-food, commercial services, catering-hotels, vacant premises, wholesalers… With the application it is possible to discover the geographical layout of these businesses over the years and the movement of establishments through the Parisian territory.

A scroll bar for each year is available in the top right hand side of the home page which enables one to follow businesses on the map. Using a play/pause cursor one can stop on a particular year if need be. The number of establishments present on the map appears for each year displayed.
