Dominique Alba, architect, Director of Apur, will speak at 4pm as part of the keynote address no.1 “Grand Paris: a 21st century metropolis”.

The 3rd Entretiens du Cadre du Ville  – Anticipating tomorrow’s territories :

Hibiscus Neighbourhood, Oasis Project, connected trees, children’s street, urban hydrogen refuelling stations, positive green-bonus tolls, agro-urban city centres, OnDijon… From metropolises to towns, rural areas and run-down neighbourhoods, the territories of tomorrow in France will take shape at the next Entretiens on Tuesday, October 23rd.

Some urban projects shine a light down paths which are as yet almost untrodden. All the projects chosen by the scientific committee of the 3rd Entretiens du Cadre de Ville call on a vast range of knowledge and understanding, new concepts, innovative meetings between key public and private players, the State and the City, as well as techniques involving at times the latest technology and at times the simplest.

In fact, solutions to the challenges posed to planners, providers and developers from all professions as well as investors are emerging. These are projects either underway or delivered. They bear witness to the tremendous quest of the new urban engineering of the 21st century to pay as much attention to the city centre as to the suburbs and to links with more distant built-up archipelagos – so spread out has the “city” become. An urban engineering that forgets no-one, that includes every typology, every topography and every situation.
